Get rid of Minecraft Cuttlefish?

I built a relatively deep lake in Minecraft and now have the problem that cuttlefishes are always spawning. I already entered / gamerule doMobSpawning false, but they come again and again. I almost go insane.

Is there a way to disable the spawn of animals? (can be all animals because of me). That's just really annoying

If you have already switched the gamerule should spawn no more. Kill them all and then watch if new ones come.

If you've already activated the gamerules, you will not spawn any new animals, but the old ones will not just disappear. You have to remove them if you want to get rid of them.

Should work with / kill @e [type = minecraft: squid, distance = .xx]
