I downloaded the Minecraft Forge installer from the Internet, but I can't open it.

For that you need WinRAR or 7Zip. These are well-known programs for extracting and compressing "more specific" files, such as jar. I personally use 7Zip, but it doesn't really matter what you take. Both are often recommended. And yes: they are both free. You will probably need something like that more often if you have to do with things like Minecraft Mods or Java things in general.

Then right-click the Forge file and hover over 7Zip with the pointer and then go to Unzip
After that, you should actually be able to start the thing
Oh no, oh my god. I was wrong, sorry. I just downloaded Forge myself (even if I already had it) and tested it. You don't need 7Zip or Winrar for this, because it's a java exe that you don't have to unzip. What you need is Java in itself. Here is the link: https://www.java.com/.../download/
Right click on the jar file - open with - select "java" there.

Important, you have to have java installed, ideally the newest.
