Should I buy a Mac Mini M1?

Wanted to ask if it would make sense to get me a Mac Mini M1.
I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320 with an AMD A9-7th Gen and do school stuff there and play Minecraft every now and then.

Would be the same on the mac.

I know that Minecraft would run better (instead of 20-30 FPS, 40-60 FPS).

PS. Got iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad with Pencil.

I wouldn't get a mac to gamble

De

I mainly play on the PS4, I would just play MC.

Si

I'm also a Mac user, although not a silicon. Mac does not matter.

Because Macs are bad for all things gaming.

sp

Well but only for mc I wouldn't get an expensive Mac

Si

Do you need to know if it's not a priority ok

Al

Well, Minecraft would also be of secondary importance, since the Mac is mainly there for work and also for Minecraft.

There's only one answer: yes.

Don't listen to the Windows disciples who have NEVER had a Mac - and that's more than 90%. The gamer argument also only applies to the world champion gaming class.

It's very simple: get the Mini - and if it doesn't fit, just sell it. You get 95% of the price. A windows cucumber - also from Dell - would bring you a maximum of 75% or you won't get rid of it at all.

De

So do you mean that I can play MC without any problems and that office / school is great.

and thank you and VG.đŸ˜‰

Fa

Give it a try. If it goes in your pants, please report here.

MacOS will definitely integrate better into an existing Apple ecosystem than Windows, which will probably run on your laptop. You have to know to what extent you really need better integration.

Your Lenevo Ideapad is a laptop and the Mac Mini is a stationary mini PC. You can take a laptop with you and you don't necessarily need extra hardware such as a mouse, keyboard and monitor. With the Mac Mini, you need this hardware. If you already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard and you hardly take your laptop with you, it shouldn't matter. You could still keep your laptop to be mobile.

He will be able to do your school tasks without any problems. I would count video conferences (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, Webex), Internet research (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Firefox) and Office (e.g. Apple Office, MS Office, Libreoffice) as school tasks. Depending on which programs you are using, most of them should already be optimized for the M1.

Minecraft (Java Edition) is not yet optimized for the M1. Minecraft still runs on the M1. At 1080p and reduced details, around 60fps are possible. The active cooling ensures that this can also be achieved permanently.

Even if Minecraft is running, it's not a gaming monster. You should buy the Mac Mini with modest gaming performance in mind. The selection of other games is also limited to MacOS and the M1.

If you can handle MacOS and the restrictions of the M1 and the ARM architecture, then go for it. Due to the current hardware situation, it is difficult to get good hardware at decent prices. GPUs in particular are affected.

Minecraft + a bit of school stuff - even a 10 year old device can do that ^^ You can even do it with a tablet…

MacOS will definitely better integrate into an existing Apple ecosystem

Not much more, in the end you increase your dependency all the more…

Gu

Price performance is pretty bad in the end… Especially since many of the new software is not yet fully compatible and you can no longer use an alternative to MacOS.

For what you use your PC it would be enough, but quite expensive for it. If it is important to you that it is expensive, then this is the one. Remember: This is not a notebook that you can use to work on the go.
