It's time for a new notebook. What?

I'm in FRAGELAUNE right now and I'm free to take care of it today!

I have a well over 10 years old notebook.

HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6310

Intel Core Duo T2300 1667MHz.

3 GB RAM DDR2

15 "TFT

60GB HDD

CD drive

Intel graphics chip.

I hope a VK of about 50-100 euro.

What am I looking for?

I mainly do office, surf, watch videos, easy image editing with GIMP, games if ever small games like SIMS4, Minecraft or similar. So games is not a main feature but I do one or the other game. It should be a desktop replacement. So battery life no matter.

It should be NO Intel graphics chip! (I've always been too weak)

It should be at least a 15 "TFT or more.

Wi-Fi and LAN

My claims are not too high.

Price: Unfortunately only 300-500 euro, more is not possible.

A PC? NO. Sometimes I have to be mobile (not often).

If you want to do yourself a favor, avoid the following:

Intel Atom Zxxx

Celeron Nxxx

Pentium Nxxx and Pentium Silver Nxxx

AMD A4-12, E2 or similar

Are usable from:

Intel Pentium for example Intel Pentium Gold 4415u

Intel i3

AMD Ryzen 3/5, (Athlon 200/220 / 240ge (as PC Office solution)).

* Pentium Gold (eg Pentium 4415u Gold) please do not confuse it with Pentium Nxxx Gold (eg Pentium N5000 Gold).

If nothing else than Office or YouTube or similar is needed, it can also be an Intel graphics, but this is NOT suitable for gaming!

GPU As a minimum APU Ryzen 3 2200u with Vega 3 graphics, then only lowGames.

Better APU Ryzen 5 2500u, also there only lowGaming but better than Ryzen 3.

Next lowGames GPUs: Nvidia 130/1030, AMD RX550, AMD Vega 8

lower median: Nvidia 1050

better: Nvidia 1060

Top class Nvidia 1070/1080

CPU as mentioned above from Intel i3 and AMD Ryzen 3/5.

SSD from 120GB absolute minimum, better 250GB

RAM as a minimum 4 GB

This is something I could "recommend" to you:

Fast work by SSD and 8 GB RAM, small games possible thanks to VEGA 3 graphics, CPU is a Ryzen 3:

15.6 TFT

400 euro

Fast work with SSD and 8 GB RAM, small games possible thanks to VEGA 8 graphics, CPU is a Ryzen 5:

15.6 TFT

430 euro

If the money is not quite as liquid, and the price is still:

Fast work by SSD and 8 GB RAM, small games possible thanks to VEGA 3 graphics, CPU is a Ryzen 3:

15.6 TFT

400 euro

Fast work by SSD and 8 GB RAM, small games possible thanks to VEGA 3 graphics, CPU is a Ryzen 3:

17.3 TFT

430 euro

https://www.otto.de/...=694322159

My favorite, however, is the Ryzen 5 version.

Hy

Look here in the link.

https://geizhals.de/...~7436_2048

CPU: i5 / i3

RAM: 8GB

Hard disk: Whether SSD or HDD

OS: Windows

TFT: Full HD (1920x1080)

Not many devices are left over, but what's coming is okay with the budget

But keep in mind that the AMD Radeon 520 is not a real gaming monster. So 50-60 FPS are possibly Max inside:-)

Ri

Super. Thank you.

How good or bad is the Radeon 520?

Is not the CPU i3-6006u and 7020u a bit older?

Ri

Do you think the Ryzen 5 will do SIMS 4 that way? Here I will mostly advise the MX130.

am

Can you almost agree with everything, but you contradict yourself in one place. You say no Pentium Silver N5000, but a Pentium Gold 4415u would be fine. But makes no sense, because the N5000 is stronger and the 4 cores are also future-proof. Of course, the basic clock is lower, but the single-core power is almost identical. Apart from the fact that I would take the place of the questioner for a Ryzen 5 2500U…

As others write here, it is better to take a MX130. I already played SIMS 4 on a Ryzen 3 VEGA, but that was a DESKTOP CPU. Since it was very pleasant. So if you're playing on a Ryzen 5 Mobile, it should work just fine.

Unfortunately, you can't compare Desktop iGPU directly with Mobile iGPU.

The cheapest thing that should meet your requirements: (Windows must be installed by yourself)

I do not see it that way

https://www.notebookcheck.net/...596.0.html

But yes you are right, I will think again if I'm not better but the 4415u from the recommendation. But what convinces me about the CPU is the SingelCore performance,

And you're probably right about the Ryzen 2500u.

am

Probably always on the benchmarks… But yes the 4415U is really not bad, as I see it. But where I see a big advantage of the N5000 is the TDP of 6W, so the notebooks are usually passively cooled, which is a great advantage, as well as the battery life benefits. Unfortunately, I have no practice comparison of the two processors, but probably do not give much…
