I built a katus and a bamboo farm in Minecraft and I wanted to build an xpfarm, but the bamboo always goes into the upper slot. Why is that?

p.s. I play 1.16.4

Must be piped into the oven over the side

If I later divert the green dye into the chest, I still get the XP

Just have to take some item out of the oven to get the XP. It doesn't matter where the items go

I mean that when I take a funnel and put it directly under the oven and the dye comes through the funnel into a box. I still get xp
