Minecraft command are not blocks?

So I play Minecraft on the phone and it has happened a couple of times that I wanted to use the fill command but there were no certain blocks (e.g. Diorite, black wooden boards, …) so they really don't use the ID and it was correct but then there's always something like "unexpected error" I have already googled it but can't find anything about it and therefore I wanted to ask if someone might know why this isn't possible or so
