I was thinking about buying Minecraft on the switch. But I ask myself the question if this edition gets all the updates like Java or if it is only updated delayed…
In short, is this a slimmed-down version or can you fully enjoy it?
This is the Bedrock edition, so like the Windows 10 Edition and Pocket Edition, not Java Edition
Bedrock Edition. The same Minecraft version as there's on the phone
Bedrock. Receives all updates. Also west earlier than the java edition.
There are 3 different versions to consider.
1. Java Edition - Classic Minecraft for the PC
2. Bedrock Edition - these include:
Pocket Edition
Windows 10 Edition
Gear VR Edition
Fire TV Edition
Xbox One Edition
Nintendo Switch Edition
and 3. Legacy Console Edition
Xbox 360
PlayStation 3
PlayStation 4
PlayStation Vita
Wii U Edition
Java can only play together with Java, Bedrock only with Bedrock and Legacy Console only with Legacy Console. In addition, the Java Edition is the only edition which is really developed, the others are practically only reprogrammed versions. The full extent you have only with the Java Edition and you get updates first.
