I bought a new PC that could be put together at Memory PC. Minecraft, City Skylines and above all MSFS 2020 should run well on this - a classic gaming PC (I think). However, not everything is going as hoped.
Minecraft (1.16), for example, only runs with up to 15 fps, around ten on average. Something like that with City Skylines. The game runs, but rather slow even at low graphics settings. If I run the browser (Firefox) through e.g. If Google Earth is loaded, the image sometimes stops. (Even when simply calling up a YT playlist) But there are many more points…
(Incidentally, Minecraft says that my graphics card is not performing well enough for the "fabulous" graphics mode. Maybe that will help.)
My PC (rough data):
-Housing: be quiet! Pure Base 600 black without card reader - soundproofed
-Power supply: Standard power supply: Silent 650 watts
-Mainboard: ASUS Prime H310M-A 2.0
-CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K, 8x 3.60GHz
-Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 580 - 8GB
-Cooling Intel: Silent Tower cooler: Alpenföhn Ben Nevis
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 RAM 3000 MHz High Speed
-SSD M.2 memory: 1000 GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 SSD (read: 3500MB / s | write: 3300MB / s)
-1. HDD / SSD hard drive: 3000 GB HDD
-2. HDD / SSD hard drive: Without hard drive
(Win 10 Pro)
I'm not an expert on personal computers. I know how to use one and a little bit beyond that. That's why I involved a relative who is an IT specialist himself when putting it together. But at the cost of 1500 euro I can't accept this achievement. Even my old PC (significantly cheaper) performed almost better.
What is wrong, what can I do?
Wait, wait, wait, your pc cost 1500 euro and ONLY has an rx 580? That's way too expensive. For the money you could get a 3060ti
So is it the graphics card?
The first thing you can do is see if your drivers are up to date.
In Minecraft you can set how much RAM the game can use in the launcher, which is 2GB by default, which can be little.
Buy an SSD and use it for your operating system and games as it runs a lot better than an HDD.
Look how high the RAM clocks. I can imagine that it only runs at 2133 mhz.
And checked the temperatures?
The task manager says something about speed: 2133 MHz. Is that a bad thing now? XD
The hardware is relatively good.
The graphics card sounds a bit slow to me compared to the other components, but it's not a bad card to blame.
Check your settings to see if you are accidentally using the graphics on the mainboard or the CPU instead of the actual graphics card.
What exactly do you have to look under?
No, it should actually have enough power for most of the time, although the MFS 2020 could run short on Ultra, but it's easily enough for Minecraft.
Nevertheless, an RX 580 belongs in a 800 euro PC and not in one for 1500 euro, your PC is kind of a rip-off, with the comparatively weak graphics card you wasted a lot of power…
During the game you can see in the task manager which card is busy, it should be the Rx 580 for it to run.
And set the Windows energy options to maximum performance
Ok, then it's probably my fault. I chose the graphics card myself. But the performance is still too bad even for this graphics card, right?
By the way, temperatures around 20 degrees
Yes, because your ram clocks too low. It can do 3000 mhz.
there lies your problem. Do you have to put it up in the bios if you can. Possibly. It doesn't quite go to 3000 but at least so to 2600 or so. That will help.
In any case, the card is not bad either, you should be able to play everything with over 60FPS as long as you are not playing in 4k.
The graphics card is not showing any performance
How can I activate the graphics card? I can't find anything suitable for it on the Internet.
Can you do in the BIOS. Googling how to set up your graphics card takes less than 2 minutes
Thanks, it only took seconds.
