I wanted to get Minecraft Java Edition on the PC for about 30 euro, but my friend said I could also buy the Bedrock Edition for about 7 euro. Now I can't decide and I don't know the advantages and disadvantages of the two editions except that Bedrock is cheaper. Can someone help me? What is better? Looking forward to answers ^^
PS.: I'm not quite sure what I'll do with Minecraft yet.
I like it more
Java is much better, there are more texture packs, more shaders and you can play on almost all servers. (bedrock is the version that is also available for mobile phones…)
Many Thanks
With Java you can decide for yourself how you want the game and that without additional costs. You can also open a server at any time.
Bedrock is a closed system where you have to pay for almost everything
It depends on whether you want to use Minecraft across platforms. The Bedrock Edition is available for smartphones, consoles and the PC and the worlds, for example, should be usable everywhere. But the Bedrock Edition does not have a few functions. The F3 menu, for example, which shows you various information such as FPS, coordinates, RAM usage, allocated RAM, etc.
So no idea whether there are other ways to display the coordinates on servers, I only have the Java edition. I also don't know whether other important functions are missing in the Bedrock edition. I personally recommend the Java edition in any case.
Thank you for this detailed answer.
He means the mobile phone version. Theoretically you can emulate Android via Bluestacks or Nox, but it would be easier if you get Minecraft directly on your PC.
It is worth spending a few more euro on the Java Edition. Maps, Skins & Texture Packs are free and you can install mods. The Bedrock Edition is good for crossplay, but otherwise it's not really worth it.
