How do I learn to code?

Cu
32

I wanted to start now with Coden.

I would like to learn Java scripts and scripts for Minecraft Java in general.

And also for Visual Studio.

What do I have to do, how long does it take, and is it worth it?

Do I have to take a course or can I also get comfortable from home?

These are my questions and I'm waiting for your answer.

ba

It would be better course

De

About apps?
via websites like z.b. Coding-academy?
about books

how long? Coding is something you are constantly developing, because the coding languages continue to evolve.

Cu

OK. Only where is there one? I live in Nordenham near Bremen. How do I want to get there? I'm not 18 yet.

ho

In terms of Minecraft you need Java ONLY (nothing with Java Script, that's good for website programming). To master fluency in a programming language, you often need as long as a normal language to be "fluent" in about 1-2 years until you can run it smoothly (depending on how motivated you are).

In Java, I can give you a basics book for 15-25 euro and everything else (depends entirely on the direction you want to program) YouTube tutorials, as a book I can recommend this to you: https://kurzelinks.de/ughk.

Cu

Already have over 50 youtube videos looking at me and can just get the basics and do not even manage to generate a scoreboard. A book is something else

ba

How old are you?

Cu

Currently 14 why? * Edit *

ba

My neighbor was also 15 and has the code independently with online courses, books, YT videos, etc. Learned. And he still makes a profit. He earned 13k last month

Cu

Yes, sure. But I just want to know how long I'm about I need to be able to do almost everything without help? 2-5 years or?

De

No idea ^^ n few years in any case. It depends on your learning progress and how often you apply the theory in practice. And if you can then solve coding technical challenge yourself, although you may not know the code, but suspect what it could be without looking.

Cu

First of all, I do not care about the money, I just want to create a server because I did it all by myself. I will order a book for my birthday.

Cu

OK.

ho

So, the basics should always be available (in a book, for example), the rest (relative to Minecraft) goes into the matter of Minecraft ("Events"), that's like vocabulary… At some point you can do the programming then make using methods or APIs easier.

De

I wish you success.

Cu

Thank you very much. Books are ok for me, but a course I will not be able to attend

ho

Incidentally, I'm also 14 and this method has helped me a lot personally, I still have help from a server admin, but since he only has about 2 hours a week, that does not make a big difference.

Do you wish a Java book for your birthday or what do I know and start… But remember to work on the computer while it works, because it solidifies then better.

Cu

Yes, I will have the book that sent me love ExoSkelettYT so (https://www.amazon.de/Java-kompakte-Grundkurs-Aufgaben-Taschenbuchformat/dp/3836245817/
Let's see what comes out of it

Cu

Oh, that's what you were

ho

It's the basics and at 13 euro you can't go wrong

I have it xD itself

(PS: In the book there's really (almost) everything you need in terms of Java, the rest you have to see on Minecraft forums (the events, such as on-right-click (or something

Cu

OK. Can you send me one or two forums that I can really make my own Minecraft server like this after 2 years?

Cu

Still there?

ho

Okay, I'll take a look…

Cu

XD That would be great I will then read the book through the summer holidays

Cu

So the book only helps for minecraft or what else?

ho

Here you should find all events / classes: https://jd.bukkit.org/

These classes are the main part of programming, but do not let the many classes kill you… But as I said, it takes 1-2 years to get it liquid

(It's best to start with Java, set a target, for example TikTakToe, and then select the classes for the respective projects / plugin ideas)

ho

The book is for the "Java" basics that you definitely need, especially in terms of formatting, the rest (maybe 80%) consists of the classes / events.

Cu

OK. So I have to learn the whole thing now in the 6 weeks summer vacation. So a major part because when I'm back in school, I can do max 1-2 hours from day to day

ho

I wish you the greatest possible motivation on earth… You will need it, I'm almost on the abandonment / despair

Cu

Really? How long are you there and how do you msint that exactly

ho

I'm also 14 and besides all the school stress I can't keep up and last sat down a month ago… I'm programming hobbymäßig since Christmas, but I have not come very far because of many distractions… It takes a lot of motivation to get it through all the steps but I hope you can, because developers are highly regarded in the Minecraft scene

Cu

Yes, developers are like a money machine. You do "nothing" and get money and a lot of respect

ho

Then you do not know the responsibilities of a developer who gets paid
