I had to restart my Telekom router because of Minecraft so that I can get a new IP address. Well, when I wanted to connect to the PC in the Wi-Fi again, it worked for a short time. After a few minutes, my PC lost the connection again. When I wanted to connect again, the message "No connection to this network possible." Why is that?
I have restarted my PC and the router several times and the drivers are all up to date. I don't have an antivirus program.
What can that be?
How does it look with the performance display. Sounds like a drop in performance.
I have already noticed that only a restart was actually made. If there's really no shifting of the router (unfavorable antenna position) or the antenna of the PC, I would check the performance data by software. And not just your connection, but also all strangers in comparison. You may be able to see if there's a hardware failure.
This can have a variety of causes (except drivers), I think of ad hoc:
- Catch virus / trojans etc. (you should definitely run an antivirus program over them);
- WLAN stick or USB connection defective (if you have one);
- Router does not recognize stick (registration in router defective);
- too many users of other routers in the immediate vicinity on the same channel (can be changed in the router);
- does the encryption work? Not encrypted at all? Then another user can hack in…
In the Control Panel / Administration you will also find many notes marked with ⚠️⛔.
