Minecraft windows 10 free with minecraft java edition?

I heard that Minecraft Windows 10 Edition is free when you buy the Java Edition. Is that still the case?

So I had no plan first got the Windows 10 Edition and then Java because it was the wrong version for griefergames.

How do you get them? Do you just buy Java from Mojang? And then get Windows 10? Do you get a code then?

This is still the case, but only if you bought Minecraft Java Edition before October 19, 2018.

You can then pick up the code in your Mojang account. You have to redeem it like any other Windows Store Code at the store and you get Minecraft Win 10 for free.
