Hi
I want to buy a cheap but good gaming PC for 500 euro…
My question is can this PC:

Play the following games smoothly:
-Minecraft
-Cities Skylines
-Sims 4
All mentioned games will run smoothly.
Better alternative:

Somewhat stronger graphics card and a much stronger CPU. Only one HDD is missing, but that does not cost the world and many have left of an old PC.
A very good choice, but only single RAM (almost deadly for the CPU), and you have already mentioned the missing HDD… So the PC costs in sum of things 550 euro… The extra price is worthwhile, however (changes: 2 x 4 GB RAM and 1TB HDD)
Now it is the FS if he wants to spend 50 euro more.
Exactly!
Or better later upgrade directly to 16 GB of RAM, 8GB are a bit short for some games, especially if you have other programs running in the background.
Just think that you also have to draw limits (financial) and then should comply… Otherwise, you're right.
RAM has already been mentioned, but the board comes without any VRM heat sink!
This severely restricts any possibility of overclocking and upgrading the CPU.
Here I would therefore necessarily invest more money, at least the 15 euro for the MSI B450 Pro VDH
Yes that's right, if you want to upgrade, you should definitely take a better motherboard.
Why should one even try to overclock this system?
Whether VRM heatsinks are or is not completely irrelevant.
If you stay with these games, then the PC is definitely a good choice, especially in terms of price / performance. With Minecraft certain mods could demand the PC a little bit more, with Cities the city must become already very large, so that there are problems.
However, before such an issue, you should consider whether you will really stay with these games, or maybe you will take a bit more money to play newer titles for a longer period of time. Newer games from the last 2 years you will be able to play fluently with this calculator only on low or medium settings.
In his game selection, the 8GB definitely enough, if you aim at more recent games, you have to readjust the entire setting again.
On the PC, the games listed by you all run smoothly with 60 FPS +. Whether high settings are possible, I dare to doubt.
In principle, the PC is sufficient for all current titles on the market. For strongly demanding titles you may have to compromise on the settings.
But for 500 euro, that's a solid system.
Because it is possible, quite simply. Overclocking and relatively simple upgrades are just two of Ryzen's great strengths.
For 10-20 euro a new CPU cooler on it, possibly synonymous needed, and then you can start!
The 400-500 MHz more can be synonymous rausholen and worthwhile for the few euro.
Besides, that's only half the story.
I also talked about upgrading, because I would not run a Ryzen 7 3700X, or if necessary, 4700 (X) on the board without a good Top Blow cooler.
