If you record a YouTube video and this shows the Minecraft name and the build of the player and then requests the player to delete the video, do you have to do this for data protection or can you leave the video online?
Please take the question seriously.
Is this your server?
Hi! Many thanks for your response. Would that make a difference?
Since Minecraft is not a real name and therefore a conclusion can be drawn about the real name of the player, a data protection declaration is omitted and therefore a player has no right to request the removal of a video.
It would be different if the real name of the player was mentioned in the video, then you would have to remove the video, as well if address data or a real picture is included.
This information is not legally certain, to be on the safe side consult a lawyer.
That is exactly my opinion. In addition: if the YouTube channel is not operated commercially, the GDPR is not relevant anyway, since this only regulates the "relationship" between entrepreneurs and private individuals. As a result, there are two reasons why you don't have to remove the video.
A little typo happened to me above. So that the sentence makes sense here the correction:
because Minecraft is not a real name and therefore a conclusion about the real name of the player is "not" possible…
