New MacBook Air versus MacBook Pro 2017?

I'm currently using a Macbook Pro from 2017 and have thought about switching to the new Macbook air

But I don't know if I will get any disadvantages because my Macbook Pro has been upgraded a bit

Would play Minecraft on it and do school stuff

MacBook Air is really awesome but I think it's good for gaming and so Vlt das Pro is better but I don't know that well

Every 100 euro laptop is enough for this.

An update does not make sense for the school application. Wait another 5 years to buy.

Even a 2012 MacBook Air would do for you.

There's no reasonable reason to switch. Better to wait a generation or two. Then everything is also ported to SW.
