Do the villagers destroy the city in Minecraft?

If I build a city in Minecraft and then make Villager in the city, what happens? Have the permanent residences or how is that?

No, villagers have no permanent residence. They just randomly walk around, and when night falls, they move back to the nearest house. Otherwise, they will not do much but walk randomly through the area.

If you have more than 21 wooden doors in town, iron golems will spawn.
