Why am I bugging ladders in Minecraft?

I always bugge at minecraft when I jump onto a ladder with shift. I always move a little bit up and down and then I can't do anything anymore. Unfortunately, this makes some game modes unplayable for me. It's not the minecraft version, I have the same problem from 1.8 to 1.15. Why is that and how do I get rid of it?
