I hope jmd knows his way around:
I'm currently building the Hogwarts (in MC) and I'm not getting anywhere… So I want to download the "Floo Network" Minecraft Map to collect inspiration! Unfortunately I can't load it on my PC. I have an iMac… Does anyone have any idea how this could work?
Well you have to download the map and put it in a certain folder where MC saved the maps
namely% appdata% / Roaming / .minecraft / saves
was that helpful?
Yes, that's exactly what I tried…
I also found out that there's no Java on the Mac… Can this help?
I also found out that there's no Java on the Mac… Can this help?
But you can play Minecraft on it?
I have to honestly say, I'm quite familiar with Minecraft, and also a little bit with Mac, but both together: I don't know
Maybe the map was still in a .zip file when you downloaded it? There must be a folder in this saves folder so that MC can read this. I remember that.
Yes! 😃😃 it was saved as a zip!
It says "download as zip" and "save to dropbox"… What should I do?
Nene, it is correct to download it as a zip. Zip is a compressed file that uses less memory, which is often used for downloading stuff.
You need an archiving program to unpack that. I recommend WinRAR, you can download it for free.
Install that, then right click> unzip with winrar or similar
Thank you! And how can I transfer that to Minecraft? There's no key for
Well, if you open the zip with it, there should be a folder in it (probably called the map). You have to drag this into the Saves folder.
