Nether Portal? - 1

I built a nether portal in minecraft survival with my friend. We went in and were in the Nether and were able to get back to our house through the portal in the Nether. It worked like that for a while, until I went into the portal in the Nether but came out in some cave. I came out on a completely different portal.

Why is that? And how can I do it again so that I can get out of the portal at our house again?

Fo

That happens sometimes is a buck

Sc

Bug * ;-)

Comes from the joke that people used to think that a computer error was caused by bugs crawling into it. Hence the English word for beetle - bug.

This cave portal was most likely directly under your house, which happens if the old one broke in the meantime

Otherwise it's just a bug, build blocks in the middle of the cave portal so that it doesn't work anymore

Ka

"used to think jokingly" you didn't. Indeed it did.

au

It's an annoying bug, I have too.

Um

Destroy the cave portal and go back through the portal at your house, then it should work.

ga

But I don't even know where the cave is and where the house is from the cave.

Um

Dig your way up and then have a look. It shouldn't be more than 30 blocks from the house.

an

It's not a bug I think

an

Nope, don't eat it

au

But. I built a portal when there wasn't one in the nether. Then I wanted to get out again and suddenly I was in some cave.

ga

I will: )

Yeah, but that's not a bug, it's a game mechanic.

You go to the Nether → Coordinates are divided by 8 to determine where the portal should be spawned in the Nether → Nothing is free at this point → Portal generates dozens of blocks away, at the next free place

You go back through the portal → coordinates are taken by 8 → in the overworld at the newly calculated coordinates within 128 blocks a portal is searched for → none is found because the distance to the old portal is too great → generates new

Right
