I recently downloaded the Minecraft Launcher again and had a program called "VS Proxy GUI" in the Minecraft folder in the Windows menu. When I clicked on uninstall, I was taken to the Control Panel list of programs, but could not find VS there. Is this necessary for Minecraft because I didn't have it before, or is it spam software?
Did you download the launcher from the official Mojangs site from your account or from an unknown site?
In the first case, this program is not included, in the second case it is not a virus, but it is superfluous. It allows you to use a proxy to create something like anonymous surfing. Who needs it!
You will probably find this under Control Panel / Programs / Uninstall, if not then on the C drive under Programs or Programs (x86). Simply delete the folder there.
