I have a little problem and hope you can help me. So far I haven't found a solution to my problem and I've downloaded OptiFine 1.16.5, dragged it to my desktop and installed it successfully. When I open the Minecraft Launcher, I don't see OptiFine and when I try to add OptiFine as a new installation, it doesn't appear either. How could I solve that?

https://tlauncher.org/en/ load the down and install it and log in with your account so that you can go online then you go to versions "ForgeOptifine 1.16.5" then you let the launcher do the whole thing without any problems and it is easier
I would download Forge and Optifine separately and not use an alternative launcher, this only brings additional (unnecessary) security risks.
No it doesn't, I have been using this for several years and I never had any security risks because Tlauncher is called the best and most powerful launcher, but you may have another opinion that the reason why there are such launcher when you have problems installing Optifine
I had that too, I then had to reinstall java (https://www.java.com/de/) and then it worked again
Jagut can also be because I think less if MC is running and you can install Optifine and you choose the correct installation path then works that Mc always crashes if you don't have the latest Java version
