I have the problem that my apps on the PC (e.g. Spotify, Minecraft) can't be opened or they crash, what can I do about it?
Maybe your PC is not strong enough
This is how I would do it:
Analyze the "crash report" or error message and then search the Internet for suggested solutions.
I just tried to start the event viewer, but it also crashed
But it sounds like an "irregular" running Windows PC problem.
Would you have a suggestion what to do, if not thank you anyway!
Oh dear, back up your data and then maybe think carefully about a NEW installation, because that's a poking around in the bog.
The following has proven to be very effective for me:
Boot the system with a "rescue DVD" or the said boot stick, save your data on an ext USB device and perform a complete. Reinstallation from WINDOWS.
Then partition the hard disk or SSD into a drive (also called partition) C: and D: before the installation and install WINDOWS 10 yourself only on C: \.
You should save your data and your own files on drive D: in the future.
With the next WINDOWS problem you only have to set up C: again, D: is completely retained. When the PC is running so well, programs have been installed and WINDOWS has been configured as desired, I create a complete IMAGE from C: \ and then save it on D: in a folder with the name \ IMAGE. I purchased the "Acronis True Image" software for this and have been using it successfully for several years.
In addition, I copy this image onto an external hard drive, which is then deposited back in the closet to be on the safe side.
So the hard drive of the PC can really "break", the PC can be broken down or have a hardware defect and then I still have the data externally backed up and available.
Once a month I save my data from D: also in a separate subfolder on the external disk, which is kept in the closet when not in use.
So you can quickly and easily set up a complete C: \ with all inst. Programs and settings.
So if there's a "strange" problem under WINDOWS itself, partition D: (where your files are) will not be damaged or will be lost. Because the problems of WINDOWS are almost always only present in the WINDOWS installation itself, your own files are then safely outside of WINDOWS and are not lost.
You could even reinstall WINDOWS on C: \ without deleting D: \ or losing the data.
Every 2-3 months I then create a current image of drive C: so that one is always relatively up-to-date.
Has proven itself extremely well for me and is used by all the friends I have installed WINDOWS in this way or in some cases even less so.
In the event of a problem, the image is directly restored and the PC runs as YOU have configured it personally at this point in time.
That is the big advantage to the compl. Reinstallation or the said reset. Because all your personal settings and applications are no longer available and will be lost.
