Is it punishable to download apps that cost money online for free?

I recently looked on the Internet and accidentally found the Happymod page where you can apparently download apps modded. But then I realized that you can download Minecraft and other paid apps there. Is it a criminal offense to download paid apps?

Then you can argue in the case of a case that you initially assumed was a public domain app and that after you noticed it was not, you deleted the file immediately.
