You have to buy the Bedrock version for the device you want to play on.

I already have the Java version but want the bedrock version

Not at all, you have to buy the Bedrock Edition for that.

These are two different games. You have to buy each one individually. They are not related.

What you are probably alluding to with your supplement:

If you bought the Java Edition before mid-2018 you received a key for the Bedrock Edition, through which you received the Bedrock Edition for free. Now the catch: this could be redeemed until April 2020. The offer is no longer available.

The Java version and Bedrock version are based on 2 different versions. It's not the same.

The Bedrock version is the console version, which is also available on the PC in the Windows Store (but also costs 10 euro or if you have the Java version you may get it for free, but think the promotion has already expired).

Actually, the Bedrock version can only be used for crossplay + now RTX (although there's also a shader that enables this with the Java version).

Crossplay never worked for me.

The Java version can actually do everything that the Bedrock version can. Get updates earlier, you can install mods, texture packs, maps and skins and don't have to pay for anything anymore. Mods are not possible with the Bedrock version and you have to pay for texture packs, skins and maps.

So if you don't play on the console, the Bedrock version is actually unnecessary.

As I said: you have to buy. The editions exist independently of one another
