I got lost in Minecraft. I just wanted to go on a boat tour because I still haven't found any coal to make torches with, and I was very much hoping to find a village with torches, but I got lost somehow. Now I'm somewhere in the green land '. But I live in the desert.
Does anyone have any idea what I could do? (Now just lay down there and start over would be the last option)
In no case sleep, if you kill yourself you will come back to the last place you were, so kill yourself and you will ideally end up right in your house.
or you make a compass that leads you to the world spawn…
You can make a compass, but you would need a red stone
Go into a cave and search for red stone, then you can google how to make a compass
Craft yourself a compass, it will only show you your house if your last sleep was really at home.

How close did you build your house to the spawn point?
If it is close enough then you could run with F3 to the coordinates X: 0 and Z: 0, this is the spawn point.
If the boat tour did not take place over a sea then you could try to drive in the direction from which you came, it could be sensible to put a torch trail so that you can come back to the departure point in the event that it was the wrong direction.
