While not necessarily a scary, the TheBetweenlands mod adds an incredibly well-made, swampy, gloomy dimension of undead creatures. Especially the woods are very horrible together with the Hardcore Darkness Mod. Otherwise there's a small Detei still the EyesintheDarkness Mod. All of these mods are very good and for the 1.12.x
