For some time now I have had the problem that I can't open chests in Minecraft (version 1.12.2) if I run Optifine via the Forge - Mod - Loader. Forge is up to date "release 1.12.2-forge1.12.2-14.23.5.2784" Optifine is the version: "OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C7".
My big problem is that I can't use any other version of OptiFine, otherwise Minecraft will crash immediately. And with this version I can't open chests. If I want to play on a server, I can't store anything, because I Can't OPEN CHANNELS!
Unfortunately I do not know what else I can do!
So, if someone knows this problem and knows how to handle it, I would be very grateful to that person.
So your problem is not in the data files but in the OptFine version, at a certain point your OptiFine will either be dropped from your PC, in which case several things should not work anymore. Another explanation is that the version of OptiFine is no longer up to date. Try to update or fix it.
