What are your Minecraft construction tips / tricks?

I already know the video, it didn't help me.
Then you should mention your current status in the question.
The way it is now you think you build houses like the one on the left. If you build like the one on the right, then of course you need completely different tips.
Use a uniform style, e.g.:
Medieval
Modern
Build jagged, by that I mean:
no straight facades
Let the roof protrude
Insert decorative elements, e.g.:
leaves
Tendrils
Well, I don't build like left and neither like right. However, my style hardly matches the tips in the video, which means I can't implement them.
What's your style Modern? Steampunk? Realistic? Something else?

I would recommend the Keralis videos to you. The showcased always ultra realistic houses.
