But one or the other plugin is a bit out of date… ☹️.
I heard about a plugin called Viaversion.
So I wanted to ask if plugins for e.g. B. The 1.12 will work if I allow the 1.12 with Viaversion.
My second question is whether Viaversion also works with Multiverse Core.
ViaVersion is there to ensure that players don't only come to a 1.14 server with version 1.14. Thanks to the plugin, you can also join 1.15. Accordingly, you can't install outdated plugins.
Yes, but most servers also run with 1.8 and I come up with 1.14
In order for 1.8 players to join, you have to install ViaRewind.
You can also install ViaBackwards so that players with version 1.9-1.13 can join your server.
And then do the old plugins work?
The outdated plugins do not work. You can program the plugin yourself so that it is suitable for 1.14.
But why not? The plugins are made for 1.8 and all players with 1.8 - 1.15 can join why shouldn't that work?
Because the plugin is for the players with other versions and not for the outdated plugins.
With ViaVersion you think that it changes the server version, but it is not. It's just a "setting" that players can join with all versions.
But that does not change the server version, so the plugins must be in the correct main version.
