I would like to learn to program plugins in minecraft and now my question is whether I should start learning to program with Java or with plugins?

Because Minecraft is based on the Java programming language. Do you logically need Java for Minecraft plugins, because you have to speak the same language with the program.

I don't know how complex plugins you want to program, but if something is too complicated just go to Reddit, StackOverflow or Googling
