Windows laptop has become extremely slow, what to do?

My Windows 7 laptop is called an Intel i3 processor and 8 GB of RAM and I know that's not very good but in the past everything was relatively fluid but now as an example Minecraft (yes yes minecraft) where I used to be at least 30 to 40 or even 60 fps. Not the most but now I have only 6! What can this be? Avira says everything is ok.

Probably the thermal grease is dried up and therefore the CPU clocks down. Can Mal install MSI Afterburner and control workloads and temperatures.

Look in the Task Manager under "Performance". As you can see synonymous with what frequency the CPU is currently running. If that is too low even at 100% utilization, then probably something with the cooling is not correct.

It could also be that something is running in the background and the laptop is busy.

Or the current version of your video drivers is causing problems. Then you could remove that and install an older driver.

What Avira says is irrelevant in the sense that I have to assume that you are using the free version.

Please check the event viewer for warnings or errors.

You can also keep an eye on the resource monitor to see which processes are eating out.
