I bought minecraft here https://www.microsoft.com/...verviewtab (so on Microsoft) It didn't work and my brother said I have to buy it again because you can't play online mode. Is that correct?

Jain. You bought the pocket edition. Playing online is theoretically possible, but in practice you can't play on servers like Gomme, as they are only available for the Java version.
