I want to play with my sister for a long time but can't find any real instructions on the internet. So of course it's called open lan etc. But is it really only for the two of us or can everyone access it? Then what is a server for?
If you are in the same WLAN / LAN (which is to be assumed) you can select in the options "Opten to LAN" / "Open in LAN", adjust the settings for the game mode etc. And you can go to "Multiplayer" on your device "see your game.
Servers are intended to work together from anywhere.
Open lan is local. Unless you open the port for internet access. Then everyone with your IP would have access.
However, the port is closed by default.
You can find out your local IP using the CMD. Just enter "ipconfig / all".
Only people who are connected to your internet can access it. If you open your world in the LAN then your sister should be shown your world on the servers. And you have to use the same minecraft version
