Use Minecraft MCEdit in newer versions?

I want to buy a Minecraft lobby for my server, but unfortunately it is very large.

You normally use MCEdit, but it hasn't been restarted for a long time.

Can you still use this in newer versions like 1.14 if the schematic only contains 1.8 blocks?

Al

I doubt it. Too many new dependencies.
But I can't say for sure, because I haven't actively dealt with MC Server for over five years.

Why don't you just paste the Schmematic with WorldEdit? That's how we used to do it in the past.

Po

What's the problem with Worldedit? Should work.

You can also use https://www.spigotmc.org/...dedit.327/ or https://intellectualsites.github.io/download/fawe.html so that it does not lead to lags when inserted.

an

You can simply insert the schematic with WorldEdit.

"But unfortunately it is very large."

"But unfortunately it is very large."

my

Unfortunately, this is not possible if the schematics are too large.

Po

Have you already tried

an

Then use FastAsyncWorldEdit or AsyncWorldEdit. These WorldEdit extensions were made just for that.

my

But if my server doesn't have enough power?

an

This is exactly what AsyncWorldEdit is good for. It inserts the blocks slowly enough that the server does not crash. It is optimized for low-end servers. You can adapt everything to the system in the Configs. You can even set the blocks to be inserted so slowly that the server is not down. But then it takes all the longer - I would rather have a little lag. But, as I said, you can set everything is made for poorer servers.

Al

There are corresponding asynchronous systems where this works without problems.

Of course, but only if the server is not currently running on a toaster with 2GB RAM ^^
And even then, it still works in most cases - it just takes longer.

my

Ah, ok, I didn't know that.

my

Here is the product: https://www.odysseybuilds.com/product-page/green-palace-hub

Do you really think that's enough?

an

I guess so.

A question: Why do you want to insert into another world at all and don't just use the whole world as a hub?

my

Because that's a schematic file. According to the EULA, you can't sell world files. In addition, the hub on an ocean…

an

You say the schematic only has 1.8 blocks…

Then just take a 1.8 world, McEdit for 1.8, insert it into the world, and then convert the world to 1.14.

my

Yes

my

How can you "convert" a world.

The only thing that occurs to me is that you open a 1.8 world in 1.14, but mostly there are chunk errors.

an

Jo, just open in 1.14. I have never had a chunk error. Shouldn't be the case either. Just make a backup beforehand. IF there really is a chunk error go through all versions one by one. 1.8 → 1.12> 1.13

my

Ok, I'll give it a try.
