How does a Minecraft server recognize a player?

Suppose I change my Minecraft name in the account settings. Will the server recognize me by an ID or similar? Again, or am I a different person for the server? Question because it is about premium rights.

Ba

Minecraft uses a universally unique identifier

de

Ok, that's good, but does the plugin / mod that I use for assigning permissions recognize me?

Ha

Arrives on the server. If it's a server where you can only play with a real Minecraft account, you can change your name as often as you want. There it is stored by UUID who has which rank and not by name.

On https://de.namemc.com/ you can enter your name and see also your UUID.

For cracked servers, the rank is tied to the name and you should ask the server team to transfer the rank.

Ba

This is entirely up to the plugin whether it manages the rights through the username or UUID

de

OK, then I have to see what happens.

Since version 1.7 Minecraft uses the UUID for something like that. Since then, the servers also use the system automatically. On versions up to 1.6 there can be problems if the server has not adjusted anything.

Worked.
