Is Adobe CreativeCloud worth it?

I'm currently making a Minecraft 1.14 server and have been working more and more with Gimp and my video editing program (Filmora Wondershare).

When I wanted to watch tutorials on the Internet, I rarely came across Gimp or even Filmora. Almost all of them use Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Even if you want to buy Buycraft icons, they are usually only available as Photoshop files.

As a student you only pay around 19 euro a month, after 12 months 29 euro.

But even that is (really a lot in my opinion).

Admittedly, everyone always talks about the best programs and so on, and I would also like to pay 300 euro if you have it forever and also get the updates. But that's how you pay it all in YEAR.

Is the purchase really worth it?

op

I wanted to get it too but found it really too expensive, the alternative is the program that you need to test for 7 days and then handle the stuff in the 7 days

Tr

Everyone always says that these are the best programs

If you need them professionally as a designer, Adobe products are pretty unbeatable and in my opinion the best, yes.

However, you want to "only" do hobby things with it, which is why in my opinion a subscription for 360 euro (!) A year is not worthwhile. I myself am a graphic and UX designer and would not get the Adobe CC if I did not get it from the company, simply because it is so expensive (but I'm no longer a student).

May I ask what exactly you want to do with it?

/ Edit: Take a look at Photoshop Elements, there are fewer functions, but I don't even use the Hardcore PS functions.

my

The problem is that you will need it very often later.

op

If you really have the money for it and are concerned and come to the conclusion that you really need it, then yes

I need the whole thing for my Minecraft server to make logos, pictures and videos for it. In addition, if you need z. B. A new offer in the shop always has an icon and an associated animation and a YouTube video if you present it.

Of course you can also get Photoshop cracked, which means free.
I wouldn't advise you and I wouldn't do it myself, but it would be an alternative.

If I interpret your text correctly, you are primarily concerned with Premiere Pro and Photoshop. If it really only concerns these two, I think buying an Adobe subscription of any kind makes no sense. Would try to find alternatives there and since you are willing to spend money, it does not look so bad.

For Premiere Pro it is really no longer worth sticking to a subscription, this program is completely replaceable with Davinci Resolve, which is sometimes even better than the Adobe program. If you are also looking for VFX in addition to the classic videoedit, you will receive it in the form of Fusion. The whole thing is even free. If that's not enough, you can buy the studio version for ~ 325 euro.

You can also use HitFilm Pro (~ 350 euro) for cutting and classic editing or the reduced express version in the functions / options. This program is more towards compositing / VFX, but it can also be taken as a classic editing program. Although I would prefer Davinci Resolve for a pure cut… There are better options, especially when it comes to color grading.

There's also Vegas Pro and - if you have a Mac - FinalCut Pro there are two other alternatives that I only know by name.

As of today, replacing Photoshop completely is not yet possible. Photoshop Elements is a free subscription, but Affinity Photo can do a lot more and it costs less. Shows that you pay for the name Adobe here.

Furthermore, the open source solution GIMP is often mentioned in image processing. I would advise against this, however, because the possibilities for non-destructive work are almost completely lacking and the operation is more than cumbersome.

As a professional non-Adobe solution, I would offer you the following:

Affinity Photo / Davinci Resolve (Studio)

Affinity Photo / HitFilm Pro

… Or the mixed version with the Adobe photo subscription in combination with Davinci / HitFilm / Vegas…

As far as I know, Affinity Photo can also read and process PSD files.

Have fun and greez

Yes, but the main problem is that they only offer Photoshop files for purchase. Of course you can't open this with Gimp or another program.

Photoshop itself is only available together with Lightroom, where we're back at 20 euro a month 🙄.

Has the photo subscription become more expensive? I only know that for just under 12 / month… But now I have no more horsepower and do not follow the price development.

Photoshop files can be opened with Affinity Photo.

my

Really? How much is it?

Look here - https://affinity.serif.com/de/photo/. It should be around 50 euro.
