I have the minecraft Java Edition and would now like to have the minecraft widows 10 edition because of raytracing.

I heard you can convert the Java edition to the Windows 10 edition, if I do I still have the Java edition?

Because I still want to play on the servers that only run the Java edition

Ru

Yes you can if you bought the java edition before the windows 10 edition was released.

Sn

No, that's no longer possible.

Sn

You no longer get them for free. The offer was completely closed 6 days ago. Even older accounts no longer get it for free.

But if I buy the Windows 10 edition, will the Java edition still work?

Hu

Ok, but if I also buy Windows 10 Edition, can I play both versions?

Sn

Yes of course they are independent of each other. You start the Bedrock as a normal Windows 10 app, the Java Edition via the normal launcher as always.

Hu

OK thanks

Ru

But that was still possible last week when I did it because I wanted to play the rtx version.

Sn

The offer was discontinued on April 20, 2020. So last Monday.

If you buy both individually, then you can do both, yes.

an

Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are two different games, so you have to buy each one individually.

You can't change in between. You also no longer get the Win10 Edition for free with the Java Edition (which was the case until 2018).
