Minecraft animals run away?

Hay people I built a small enclosure for myself, so to speak from fences and with a fence gate (the block is 1 × high). I just wanted to keep a few animals, pigs, cows etc. And every time I open the gate I try to run away all the animals or run out of the enclosure. And catching them again is annoying. Can you do something about it that they stay in the enclosure without running away?

You can make two fence gates with a block in between

Definitely gets you a little further

Easy to do again or lure when you're in it.

Or you can build a double gate.
