I have the Java Edition but just out of interest I wonder which version you would rather buy Bedrock or Java?

Just both. So you have everything you need. 😎

Definitely java. There are no MineCoins. No texture packs that you have to buy first. And if you want to play with your friends who only have the Bedrock version, you can simply create a server that has the necessary plugins to play together.
