I'm new to gaming and I'd love to buy Minecraft. Since I'm using an LG Oled for gaming, I'm wondering whether all these features (ray tracing, 4k, high dynamic range, ultra realistic texture pack) are supported by Minecraft or whether compatible mods exist, rsp. Which Minecraft version I need to use everything at the same time. And do you think that my 3080 can handle it with 60fps? And is it possible to play online with friends who don't have these mods installed?
Would be really happy for answers because I can't get any smarter on the Internet.
Your RTX 3080 can do this easily. The only problem is that ray tracing is only available for the Bedrock Edition. There are no mods or free texture packs there…
The conventional, great, Java edition is still without ray tracing…
Hm is it to be expected that the java edition will receive ray tracing at some point or are there mods that give a similar result? I think the windows 10 version doesn't make sense for me if I can't create a server with others of the java version.
Aloha!
There's no ray tracing for the Java edition. There's, however, a shader that simulates RT: https://www.patreon.com/sonicether#no_universal_links
Of course this is not "the real ray tracing", but it comes very close to it. Just search for "Seus PTGI" on YouTube.
Great thank you! Can you combine it with other texture packs? And can you play with it online?
Yes, you can add texture packs and play online.
No, it is not because it is programmed in java and so far it is not possible to program in java raytracing
Ah, thanks
well it is ray tracing, it is just not *hardware accelerated* raytracing
