I browse through many Minecraft articles and often hear something from Mc Forge! But what is Minecraft Forge?

An adapted Minecraft version with which you can install mods.

Minecraft Forge is itself a mod or changes the version somewhat that is used as the basis for other mods that are based on it. How exactly this works has always been a mystery to me. I think it's a kind of framework that makes it easier for new mods to dock. Forge is mostly needed for larger complex mods.
