Can you build an iron golem farm in the Nether in minecraft?

I'm playing Minecraft on a server with some friends and I don't want to finish building the iron golem farm, because my friends will definitely kill the dragon a few more times and the dragon will definitely destroy it. I don't want to build it in overworld either

I think yes, of course it depends on the type. My tip would be to build them in the overworld within the spawn chunks, then they are usually more efficient because the chunks are always loaded.
