I already have a lot of experience with Minecraft and so far it has always worked to play in a LAN world.
Now I have the problem that I wanted to open a world with my girlfriend and that didn't work. The particular problem is that the LAN world is not displayed in the multiplayer tab.
Set up:
-we want to play Minecraft version 1.16.4
-PC 1 is a laptop with standard Windows firewall (WLAN connection)
-PC 2 is a desktop PC with Norton (LAN connection)
-Fritzbox 7530
What did I try:
-LAN Welt tries to open up with both PCs
-Firewall disabled on both PCs
-IMPORTANT: PC tries to ping… I noticed that the two PCs can't communicate with each other (loss = 100%)
I might know how to solve the problem.
Do you have dc? If so then you can send me an fa

Times would connect both devices with lan. If there's only one LAN connection nearby, you can use a LAN switch. Should actually work then
Since the computers can't even ping themselves, the problem with your Fritz! Be box. This will be configured so that LAN and WLAN have separate networks and thus can't reach each other.
(The problem can also be the Windows firewall, because you may have tested the ping before turning off the firewall?)
Yes, I suspect that you are right with the Fritzbox. The firewall was deactivated when trying to ping.
Is there a way to adjust the Fritzbox that works?
I'm not really familiar with the box now. But you could connect both computers with each other and manually assign an ip address to each.
Alternatively - which is probably better in the long run - use ngrok. Then it would also go over the Internet.
