I have a modpack through Curseforge and I play with it on a single player world. Only now a buddy would like to play on this one too. But this world is only in single player mode. Now my question would be whether you can turn this world into a multiplayer world without losing anything. Again, this is not the normal Minecraft launcher, but Curseforge
Either set up a server on your pc or think it can also be opened in the lan and then via ngrok
Clear, no problem, just have to be careful with the server configuration
Server configuration?
The launcher doesn't matter.
You need a server, there you upload the map.
Yes of course, i think you have a server right? If you only use your pc it shouldn't be that difficult
How do I open a server?
I think you have a server right?
no, haven't got one yet. How do I put one on?
There are countless tutorials for this. Look times to set up Forge Server or something similar.
Ok, I'll have a look.
If I set up a server there and load my single player world on it, will that change anything about my single player world? And are the two worlds in sync, so do they synchronize or something?
Together with you? Or even without you?
First of all, of course, he needs the same mods as your modpack.
In the former case you can simply open your single player game in the lan and you use a virtual network like hamatchi so that he can play. (Or you can give him your current Internet IP. That works too)
If he should play without you. You basically have to set up a permanent server. With the Modpack and then copy the world to the server.
Alternatively: You can just send him the World Save and he can then insert it into his minecraft and start the world as a single player. (Then logically you can't play together in the world.)
You just copy the folder from your single player to the server, that doesn't change anything in the single player world.
If you want the same progress in the single player, you can also simply copy the server world back into the single player. Minecraft is very simple there.
But make backups of the respective worlds beforehand.
We just want to play together in the world. The virtual network sounds good, is that difficult to adjust?
I just do the backups by copying the world to e.g. A usb stick, right?
E.g. Or just in another folder.
Nope don't think so. Download the program. Start. And then connect with each other there. How exactly it works I don't know and it depends on the chosen program. But it won't be really complicated.
