I started exploring the Nether in a new world and found a bastion that I wanted to loot. However, the Piglins went straight for me, even though I was wearing gold armor and didn't open any chests or mine gold. I fell down somewhere before and died as a result of the attack, so at first I wasn't sure whether my gold armor had even survived the fall. But when I went there a second time with gold armor, I was attacked right away.
Does anyone know whether their aggression will eventually subside or how else can you get in?
If you open a box or something the Piglins will attack even though you have gold armor on. It's so normal.

Piglins get aggressive when mining gold.
I can't tell you whether they will become neutral again at some point. The neutrality has been kind of weird since the Nether Update, as long as a mob remains aggressive, others will also be triggered again. Very strange and painful. So I always slaughter everyone.

Thanks for the answer. I didn't mine any gold, that's why I was so surprised and didn't expect them to attack me. The triggering is really exhausting, but I have now "eliminated" those who were aggressive;) in the hope that none of the others will notice and I will not trigger a wave of aggression XD
