I have an aspire 2000 with windows service pack 3
but would like to install a better RAM.
can one link to me a suitable ram the minecraft 1.8 creates?
Here's a tip from me: Since Minecraft is also available for Linux, I would install it as the operating system Bodhi Linux. That does not cost anything. In addition, Bodhi Linux requires much less system resources than Windows XP. In addition, there's no support for Windows XP and the Java version you need for the current Minecraft does not run on Windows XP.
Here is the download of the ISO: http://sourceforge.net/...o/download
After the download just write the ISO with this tool https://unetbootin.github.io/ on an empty FAT32 formatted stick. Now you have a bootable stick. If you can't boot from USB, there's a solution for that as well: the Plop Boot Manager. This is a boot CD containing a USB bootloader. Download here: https://download.plop.at/files/bootmngr/plpbt-5.0.15.zip Unpack the Zip and then burn the plpbt.iso to a blank CD with this tool http://www.freeisoburner.com/.
Connect the PC to the router via network cable.
Plug in the stick, insert the burned CD and turn on the computer. Now just boot from the CD. After a short time the Plop Bootloader appears. Select USB there. Then the stick is booted. After a while the desktop appears. Here is an explanatory video on how to install Bodhi Linux:
During installation, the Internet will be set up automatically.
After completing the installation and the first reboot, you go to the terminal and enter the following commands and complete with Enter:
sudo apt update -y
sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt install gdebi dkms lintian vlc synaptic -y
This updates the system and installs important packages. Among other things, the VLC Media Player and the Synaptic package management. It may be that a dialog appears where you have to set up the keyboard layout again. Simply choose German. When everything is complete just reboot. This can also be done via the terminal by entering sudo reboot. With unattended-upgrades you can automate the update completely so that it runs in the background.
Here is Minecraft for Linux: https://launcher.mojang.com/...ecraft.deb After the download simply double-click install. If Java is not already installed, it will be automatically installed.
Bodhi Linux goes off like a rocket. Windows XP, on the other hand, is a lame duck.
I've read that before… XD
