Dogs can teleport in Minecraft. Now my friend and I have built a new base thousands or even millions of blocks away from the old one and unfortunately we ate the dogs and cats there. 😬 If I teleport myself there now, free the dogs and cats and let them get up, can they teleport over this great distance or do they only have a certain range? And if I leash a cat and then teleport, will the cat be teleported with me?
So I think it doesn't really matter how far away they are, but you have no choice but to try it out
If I have the cat on a leash, will it teleport with me?
No, I've already tried it… Teleporting on a leash is not possible - at least for me.
No
The only range limit would have to be that the cat / dog must be in a loaded chunk. Theoretically, it should work if the non-owner goes to the new one while the owner stays in the old one.
Alternatively, you could fetch it with / tp @e [type = cat] ~ ~ ~ or port it back together with you / tp @e [distance = .2] x y z
So theoretically I can teleport to the dogs and my friend teleports me back so that his chunk stays loaded and then the dogs come along
The way you describe it, the chunk would not stay loaded. If you went to the dogs you can either:
er / tp @e [type = wolf] ~ ~ ~ use to transport the dogs to the old base
Use du / tp @e [distance = .2] x y z to teleport you and all entities within 2 blocks
But the chunk stays loaded if my friend stays in the chunk with the new base
I think I misunderstood something about you:? So in the beginning are you and he in the new one? Then it would work
That works as long as the dogs and cats are in a loaded chang.
That means your someone has to be with the dogs and cats so that the chang is loaded and the owner teleports you to the base.
However, this does not work if you have them on a leash.
Yep
Cats don't teleport
