Shrink Minecraft inventory bar?

How can I make my inventory bar smaller? Find them way too big.

With mods it is definitely feasible that you can only make the inventory bar smaller. Otherwise there's the option to make the entire UI smaller in the settings

Change the GUI size under graphics settings.

I can recommend texture packs that make them smaller, but otherwise you can only use mods or make the entire hud smaller
