How to rank in Minecraft with PermissionsEX?

How do I rank with PermissionsEX? Because when I try to create a rank there's always an error message

Which command do you use for this and which error message appears?

I create my groups / ranks manually, so I do not know the exact wording in-game:

Try / pex group create group name / rank name

This is actually very well explained and specified in pexhilfe. If you can't get it, write what you are doing.
