Yes, it depends on what you want, Feed the beast for technical stuff and something like a magic modpack. I find all technology modpacks that do not run on a server but somehow stupid because the machines only run when you are in the world
I recommend inventory pets, too much tnt or blocklings in connection with just enough items.
Crackpack 3 is very suitable for this.
The best modpack in my opinion is LifeInTheWoods!
Most beautiful Minecraft I have seen today, especially with shaders.
